For over 20 years, the Dallas Goethe Center has offered a unique learning environment for adults, teens, and children. We recognize the close relationship between culture and language learning and provide state of the art German language instruction.

8 reasons why you should start learning a new language today:

  1. You become smarter - Speaking a foreign language improves the functionality of your brain by challenging it to recognise, negotiate meaning, and communicate in different language systems.

  2. Being professional - Increasing globalization means that doing business with people from other countries and continents is more common than ever before. Become a responsible global citizen and add an edge professionally.

  3. Unlock the door to the rest of the world - What better way to secure an international position than by understanding and speaking the local language? Learning another language is key to opening the door to a whole new world.

  4. Understand other cultures - Mastering a new language requires discipline and intelligence. You truly begin to comprehend a foreign culture when you speak the language.

  5. Build multitasking skills - Multilingual people, especially children, are able to switch between two systems of speech, writing, and structure. According to a study from the Pennsylvania State University, this makes them good multi-taskers.

  6. Improve your memory - Learning a language requires memorising rules and vocabulary, which strengthens that mental “muscle" and improves overall memory.

  7. Boost your decision-making skills - According to a study from the University of Chicago, bilinguals are inclined to make more rational decisions.

  8. Enhance your English language skills- Learning a foreign language makes you focus on the mechanics of language: grammar, conjugations, and sentence structure. This increases your awareness of language, even your English language, and how it can be structured and manipulated. These skills can improve your communication, editing and writing skills.

We look forward to unlocking these benefits with you.
